The Global Real Estate: Local Market CIPS course is one of the two core courses required for U.S. real estate professionals to earn the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation. This course introduces real estate professionals to the tools needed to present investment information to international clients.

  • Derive maximum professional benefit from business and personal interactions.

Handouts will be provided electronically 2 days before the class date.

This course is scheduled for two days. Attendees must participate on both days to qualify for CE credit and to earn the CIPS designation.


To qualify for CE credit, all participants must complete the polling questions throughout the session, attend the class with their camera on, and be in view of their camera for the session's entire duration.


Meet the Instructor:

Christel Silver was born and raised in Berlin, Germany and worked for the German Court System for 17 years. She was teaching young adults German law in the Court System and was engaged in Real Estate Law.

After moving to the US in 1985, she started a Real Estate career and has been selling real estate ever since, first in Maryland and Washington DC and since 2001 in Florida.  In Maryland and Washington DC she also practiced as a Certified Residential Appraiser for over ten years. Since then she has served as member and chairperson of many committees in Montgomery and Frederick Counties (Maryland), REALTORS® Association of the Palm Beaches, FLORIDA REALTORS®, NAR and CRS Council, was the President of the Florida CRS Chapter in 2010, and Regional Vice President for the CRS Council from2012-2015 and was a member for the BOD for the CRS Council for 2015/ 2016. Christel was chair for the Global Business Committee of Florida Realtors® and the president for the WCR Greater Palm Beach Chapter in 2015.

The NAR appointed her to be the president’s liaison to Germany from 2010 through 2014, and she is an International member of the IVD in Germany.  

She opened her own brokerage companies: Silver International Realty, Inc.  and Silver International 30 A, Inc. in Delray Beach. Her firm has been awarded to be a minority women business in Palm Beach County.
